Trust Yourself!

Self-doubt, lack of confidence, not believing you are good enough, and aiming for perfectionism can block you from attempting anything. It can create a fear of failure. This fear holds you back and you might not even have the courage to try. When you don’t try, you inevitably always fail.
It is a negative feedback loop, because when you fail, it is confirming your self belief that you aren’t good enough and again you will not ontinue to try.

Luckily the opposite is also true. When you believe you are good enough, you don’t strive for perfection but just to be enough. You are hopeful and give it a go. Even if you then fail, you had a chance at success and you would have always learned from it.

As Brene Brown says, when you are not sure if you should or shouldn’t do something, ask yourself:
Is it worth doing, even if I fail?

Photographs…

We collect memories like raindrops on the palm of our hand
My mother once told me that a moment lived in happiness is far more precious than anything else.
I guess that’s why she hated being photographed.
In my home you will see the walls are bare.
We don’t have frames lined up that show smiling faces and people laughing in a pretty background.
Maybe it’s cause my mom believed that a moment is not complete till you can capture its essence in its entirety and photographs fall short in telling the truth cause we would rather smile and hide the pain, lies and emptiness that is often reflected in our eyes.

After her demise, we had to try hard to find a photo of her’s
She’s not smiling in that
There is this half smile on her lips, but I wonder if I saw the stories in her eyes, stories that are laughing, crying, angry, stories that are alive and the stories that now have died with her.
I like taking pictures. I don’t know if I am scared of being forgotten or want to just be remembered as a story.
I wonder when people say that we stay alive in memories,
do they actually mean it or it’s just a lie to comfort ourselves.

Cheers to 2019!

When I first started the year, I wasn’t in the best mindset. Like I had no idea where I was headed, and I just wanted to stop for a while. I wanted to rest and let the world go ahead without me while I took time to figure myself out. It’s crazy. Everything looks rose-tinted to a spectator, the grass is greener on the other side but only the person living that life knows what they’re going through.

All I wanted was peace. I was losing my drive, the things that propelled me forward and my dreams. I even lost someone forever who was very close to me. But I would always wish him loads of happiness and success wherever he is.

The previous year brought about a tumultuous change in my life. It’s weird to think that a year ago I had no idea that I would experience the things that I did, that I would meet the people I have, and that I would feel the way that I feel at this moment. This year has given me so much, imprinted a lifetime of memories that I will take with me as I move forward on my journey, the people that I’ve with me have healed me, loved me, encouraged me, improved me and welcomed me with all my imperfections, in my entirety.

I would always pray to God for some people to be by my side lifelong. Without them, I would cease to exist. It’s true that some people transform your life completely with their presence, bringing an abundance of love, happiness and warmth that you let every ounce of your being absorb.

I’m ending the year with my cup brimming with kind people, happiness, memories, smiles and laughter. The weeks, months and years ahead are uncertain but what I am certain of is how I feel at this present moment – happy, driven towards my dreams, and praying that I have the one I love with me always.

And these are the things that I wish for each and every one of you. Welcome happiness and love, welcome risks, new people and adventures, welcome growth, welcome your future. I wish you so much love and light.

Cheers to 2019 & Wish You a Happy 2020!

Awakening

Jesus was not sent here to teach the people built magnificent churches and temples amidst the cold wretched huts. He was sent to make the human heart a temple, the soul an altar and the mind a priest.

Let Go of The Past!

Feeling distressed? Listen, it is really important to make sure that you don’t define your life with what you are facing and feeling this very moment. Look at your past and acknowledge all the moments. Both the good as well as the bad ones.

All you need to do is just have faith in the healing capacity of time. Be grateful for the good times. Things will soon start falling in place. You will once again start feeling calm, happy and relaxed. The best part being you solely have the control to feel positive again.

Break Out Of Your Shell!

It goes unsaid that in the darkest hour of our life, we shine the most. If you look at the rain, it teaches you not to hide, but shine at the places you don’t belong to. You need to come out of your comfort zone to understand your true potential. You only become aware of your inherent abilities when the things are odd. Overcoming your fears and fighting against them will surely give you immense amount of pleasure because it is then you realize how tough you are from the inside.

The problem with us these days is that we take everything for granted. This is the reason why happy moments no longer seem happy anymore, and we begin to lose every hope when life becomes tough. We want miracles to happen and hope for a better future. Although it is good to be inquisitive, but you know asking too many questions and not trying to get a single answer is also not going to help.

At times it happen that the blurred pictures are the most beautiful and the people with sad past make the most beautiful future. So, hold the thread of hope. It is just the beginning and the beginning needs strength. Believe in yourself first if you want others to believe in you.

There is No Plan B!

Believe in yourself and you will find that the world believes in you,

Believe in yourself and you will have all the energy, power and motivation to achieve all that you desire,

Believe in yourself and you can make all your dreams come true.

The first step before anyone else believes you, is that you start believing your own self.

Reminds me of a famous quote which goes like this – ” There is actually no reason to have a Plan B, because that only distracts you from Plan A.”

Even having the notion of Plan B or a backup plan shows that you are not completely confident on your Plan A. The moment you doubt on your original plan is the moment you have failed. The most successful people never had a Plan B. For them, their Plan A was their Plan B, Plan C and Plan D.

May be your plan is not realistic but who cares. Life is never about being realistic, it is about being optimistic.

Heart v/s Head

Talking of the heart and the head debate, you know the head usually opts for the safer option, whereas the heart advocates the risky one. At times, because of this misalignment, it is quite possible to feel divided within the same body.

Your heart is the little voice or the intuition that guides you. When faced with a conflict, your mind may have several logical reasons to act but if you listen to your heart, you are generally more happier, because that is what you actually wanted to do or believe in. The mind which can understand the most complicated and intricate theories, the same mind can be upset over a harmless remark. The mind has no relation with deeper feelings and as a result it creates endless dramas in your life. Mind is the content but the heart is the essence.

In the conflict between the mind and the heart, it is also your emotional state in which you decide, which plays a major role. It is not wrong to follow your heart, but never do so in a state of anger or happiness, as those emotions can cloud your judgement as well as influence your decision. Follow your heart always, but at the same time, do not completely ignore what your mind has to say. A blend of heart and head will bring you closer to the most favorable decisions. You know it is the right decision when the situation satiates both your mind and heart simultaneously.

Expect The Best & Be Prepared For The Worst!

How many times have you had a negative thought about something that may or may not happen? It is important that you understand that these thoughts often arise out of your fear of the unknown and so you must question these thoughts before you believe them. Generally the cases of them coming true will be very low. A thought is harmless unless you believe in it. It is not the thought but the attachment to it that often leads to our suffering. When we get attached to a thought, we start believing it is true even before verifying its authenticity. Negative thoughts often arise due to the fear of the unknown and carry no evidence of being real because they have not even occurred as yet. They are a natural response from your brain to alert you from all the upcoming challenges. The only purpose of these thoughts is to act as a reminder and prepare you to be aware.

We come from a survival and scarcity based culture that we simply cannot conceive the bigger possibilities of life that lie ahead of us. Nurturing a mindset of abundance is absolutely essential for your general well being and growth. So be happy and live life king-size. Hope for the best and get ready to face the worst!
